What does "Class III" mean?

Generally participants should be able to swim and be at least around 12 years old, but message us with specifics and we'll confirm for your group.
Two hours of white water on the Sarapiquí
The Sarapiquí River is one of the most accessible white water rivers in Costa Rica, with a steady flow of Class III rapids that give you a real rafting experience without requiring previous training. It's the kind of trip that works equally well as a first-time adventure or a fun add-on to a longer stay in Bajos del Toro.
Your certified guides handle navigation and safety throughout, briefing the group before launch and calling out paddle commands on the water. Between rapids there are calmer stretches to take in the river canyon and catch your breath before the next set.
What's included
- Certified rafting guides.
- Full safety equipment: helmet, life jacket and paddle.
- A snack after the rafting run.
- Departures at 9:00 am or 1:00 pm, every day.

What to bring
- Swimsuit worn under your clothes.
- Quick-dry clothing — avoid cotton.

- A change of clothes and a towel for after.
Important: open sandals or flip-flops without a back strap are not allowed on the river — footwear needs to stay on in the water.
