Canyoning down a sky-blue river in Bajos del Toro

Gata Media is a guided canyoning route in the cloud forest of Bajos del Toro, on the slopes of Poás Volcano. Along roughly 4 km of sky-blue river you'll rappel four waterfalls, take two jumps and ride five natural waterslides carved into the volcanic rock, linked by short hikes through the forest.

Before the first drop, your certified guides fit your harness, helmet and wetsuit and practice rappel technique with the group on land. The route works for first-time canyoners as well as anyone looking for a bit more adrenaline, and the photo package captures the whole descent, so there's no need to carry a camera.
