Quick answers

How much does Bluefalls cost?

$60 per person in a group, or $100 for a private tour. A 50% deposit is required to book (PayPal accepted), with the remaining 50% paid in cash to your guide on the day of the tour.

Do we really see six waterfalls?

Yes — the route is built to string together six falls in one 4-hour outing, more than any other single tour we offer.

Can I swim at the waterfalls?

Yes — several of the six stops have turquoise pools suitable for swimming, and your guide will point out the best ones on the day.

Is Bluefalls easier than Quebrada Gata?

Yes — Bluefalls covers easy to intermediate terrain, while Quebrada Gata is rated technical for its river crossings and rock scrambling. Bluefalls is the better first hike.

The valley's highlight reel, in one trail

If you only have time for one hike in Bajos del Toro, Bluefalls is usually the one we recommend. Rather than building a whole day around a single destination, the trail links six separate waterfalls into one four-hour outing, with turquoise pools appearing at several of the stops along the way.

The terrain sits comfortably between our easiest walks and our most demanding canyon routes — enough variety to feel like a real hike, without the technical sections or full-day distance of some of our other tours. It's the route we point most first-time visitors toward.

Who this hike is for

  • First-time visitors who want a solid introduction to the valley's waterfalls.
  • Anyone who'd rather see variety than commit to a single, longer destination.
  • Groups mixing different fitness levels who still want a proper hike.

If you're after something gentler still, Pozas Celestes is our easiest option. For more of a physical challenge, Vuelta del Cañón or Quebrada Gata go further.

What's included

  • Experienced local guide, English and Spanish.
  • Minimum 2 people per tour.
  • Available every day, departing at 7:00 am.
  • Transport can be added, priced by distance from your accommodation.
  • Professional drone photos and video available on private tours ($250 per person, including tour and lunch).

What to bring

  • Swimsuit and a towel for the pools.
  • Water and a snack.
  • Light clothing and a change of clothes.
  • Proper closed footwear with grip, plus insect repellent.

Important: no tour can be done in open shoes. With six stops on wet trail, good grip matters for the whole route.
